In order to provide clean drinking water and irrigation facilities to the farmers in rural areas, Government of India created the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) in NABARD under which different sector of Jal Shakti Department like PHE, Minor/Major Irrigation Projects and Flood Control Projects etc are covered.
There are 203 Ongoing Projects in the PHE, I&FC sector funder RIDF XXII, XXIII and XXIV with an approved cost of Rs.573.99 crore. Rs. 202.51 crore have been spent upto March, 2019 and Rs. 63.15 crore have been spent during the current financial year so far. Moreover, Rs. 114.59 crore have been released recently as advance positioning for execution of these projects.
